Launch into National Science Week 2022 With Street Science

Jul 25, 2022 | For Teachers

In just a few weeks’ time it will be National Science Week 2022!

The team here at Street Science love science, so obviously we’re huge fans of National Science Week, and we are super excited to be partnering with Inspiring Australia to help launch the science celebrations this year.

And the best thing is anyone can join us! That’s right, wherever you are, you can pull up a chair and join the Street Science team as National Science Week takes off with our Forces & Flight LIVE show featuring a special rocket building class and launch!

Our first round of tickets BLASTED OFF and became a huge success, so we’ve had to release a second round of tickets that are available to purchase now.

WHAT is Going On?

For National Science Week 2022, the Street Science gang is putting on a LIVE online show that’s available to people from right across Australia. Our team of scientists is getting together to present our fabulous Forces and Flight Show.

We’ve even asked some real rocket scientists to join us! They’re going to help us out with a live rocket building workshop that ends with a real rocket launch. Everyone who attends the event will also have a rocket building kit sent to their home. The kit contains everything you need to follow along with our workshop and build 3 rockets of your own, plus enough fuel to launch each rocket at least 10 times.

The event kicks off with our Forces and Flight show. Forces and Flight is one of our most popular live shows where we explore all the forces involved with flight and rocketry. The show includes instruction from our talented science teachers and rocket scientists, as well as demonstrations showing how we used bouncing objects and explosions to figure out the secrets of flight.

WHEN is the Live Show?

August 12th is the big night.

National Science Week is August 15th – 19th, but the Street Science team is kicking things off with an early launch!

Our Forces of Flight show will be live streamed from our Street Science Studio on August 12th, 2022 from 5:30-7:30pm (Eastern Time). Attendees are welcome to tune in from their phone, laptop, tablet, living room TV or anywhere else they feel comfortable.

HOW Do I Join the Live Show?

After you have purchased your ticket, and just before the big night, you will be sent a special link that will give you online access to the show. Anyone from around the country can join, all you need is internet access and a device to watch on.

When you buy a ticket to the show you’ll also be sent a rocket building kit. The rocket kit contains everything you need to follow along as our rocket scientists run a workshop and teach you how to build a real, working rocket. The show will end with an Australia-wide rocket launch! You can tune in and get involved with the rocket launching and building fun from wherever you are.

You can purchase tickets for the show HERE.

Blast into National Science Week 2022 with a LIVE Show from Street Science!
