Year Six

Street Science will present individually tailored programs to assist primary schools, as they engage with the current phase of the Australian National Curriculum. Programs can be customised to compliment the needs of your individual school, with the ability to present age appropriate material for students in Prep right through to Year 10.

YEAR 6 SIGNATURE SCIENCE SHOW – 45 MINS

Year 6 students are treated to a range of incredible energy transformations to understand how energy changes from potential sources to the most exciting displays of light, heat and sound energy! Reversibility of these and other experiments are discussed to categorise differences between chemical and physical change.

ENERGY & ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS – 60 MINS

Students use ‘snap together circuits’ to build a variety of circuits including; an FM radio, connect bulbs in series and parallel, investigate insulators and conductors, and wire batteries in both series and parallel circuits.

PERFECT POLYMERS – CHEMISTRY IN ACTION (SLIME & SNOW) – 60 MINS

Using their knowledge of fair testing, students compare two chemical reactions by changing only one variable. A reversible physical change is undertaken and described to finish the session.

You will be supported from the initial booking by our expert team to help select the perfect science experience right through until after our visit with post-event communication.

Our visits are all-inclusive. We bring all the gear, set up smoothly, and pack-down; leaving zero mess! We only leave behind smiling faces and a fresh excitement for science learning. Our emphasis on inquiry-based learning keeps everyone engaged throughout our entire visit, and well after we have packed the van and headed back to Street Science HQ.
