What to Expect

To put it simply….. there is NO EXPERIENCE like a STREET SCIENCE EXPERIENCE.

Street Science founder Steve Liddell started blowing minds with high-energy stage shows and engaging hands-on science workshops for schools in 2012. He had identified an opportunity to improve learning outcomes for Australia’s youth. 10 years later, Street Science has become Australia’s leading science communication provider through face-to-face workshops as well as online resources such as our science kits for schools. We work across several key markets including Primary and Secondary Schools, Shopping Centres and Community Events, as well as Kids’ Parties.

Our science communicators are the best in the country and provide 1st class experiences across Australia and at the biggest science festivals around the world!

Featured Experiences

Cheeky Changes
Year 1

Each group is guided through a procedure and discussions to make, describe and compare physical changes of PVA bouncy balls that they get to keep and take home

Mixing Materials
Year 2

Students investigate the properties of different materials, combining safe chemicals to make and describe their very own slime and instant snow.

Hardcore Heat
Year 3

Students complete chemical reactions to feel and measure, using thermometers, how heat can be produced and absorbed. They then test different materials’ ability to conduct thermal energy and allow state changes.

Rocket Science
Year 4

Students investigate Newton’s laws of physics by building and launching CO2 rockets. This workshop has been modified so the theory component links into the Year 4 curriculum including exploration of contact and non-contact forces.

Mad Microscopes
Year 5

Students use digital microscopes to observe a range of biological specimens, provided and found in the schoolyard, to identify structural features that allow them to survive in different environments.

Electricity
Year 6

Students use ‘snap together circuits’ to build a variety of circuits including; an FM radio, connect bulbs in series and parallel, investigate insulators and conductors, and wire batteries in both series and parallel circuits.

Secondary Science Shows
Year 7 – 10

Our passionate presenters tailor these shows to enliven the specific curriculum needs of students on the day. Priority is given to include the most exciting, and even explosive, chemistry and physics demonstrations.
