World Science Festival returns to Brisbane again in 2018!

In 2018 the cultural forecourt at South Bank Parklands will again turn into a science playground with dozens of FREE immersive and family-friendly events for everyone to enjoy.

Take part in hands-on activities and explore the science behind robots, fossils, bubbles, slime, spiders, solar energy, drones, augmented reality, experiments and even explosions!

Visit the Street Science marquee for an EPIC WILD WEATHER adventure!  Make a cloud in a bottle or make some instant snow, plus demonstrations and chats with our scientists.

Kick back and relax at The Osmosis Stage where you can enjoy a stellar line-up of amazing musicians, mad scientists and science surprises guaranteed to inspire and delight the young and the young at heart.

Grab a drink and join in the experiments at the Festival Lab where you can discover the wonders of science through casual conversations and live events.

Hailed by The New York Times as ‘a new cultural institution’, the World Science Festival – founded by renowned Physicist Professor Brian Greene and Emmy award-winning journalist Tracy Day – has been held annually in New York for a decade.

World Science Festival explores and celebrates the entanglement of science and art through a curated program of thought-provoking conversations, inspiring theatrical and cinematic experiences, interactive workshops and engaging demonstrations.

Queensland Museum Network has secured the exclusive licence to host World Science Festival in the Asia Pacific from 2016-21.
